On Saturday, the Patna Civil Court deferred the hearing in the anticipatory bail plea of Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir and director of Khan Global Studies.
The court has fixed June 30 as the next date of hearing after allowing time to analyse the updated case diary submitted by the police.
The interim protection from arrest granted to Khan Sir will remain in effect until the next hearing.
The Kadamkuan police presented the updated case diary to the court during the proceedings. The court granted three days for the examination before hearing the final arguments.
Both the public prosecutor and the lawyer for Roshan Anand requested additional time to review the case diary and its legal aspects. The court approved the request and adjourned the matter until June 30.
The court will also hear the bail applications for Khan Sir’s two personal security guards on June 30.
In connection with the firing case, both security guards are currently in judicial custody
The police stated that, in the case diary submitted to the court, investigators have reportedly concluded that the June 2 firing incident was not an act of self-defence.
The police claimed that the shooters intended to create panic.
According to the investigators, police eventually added Faisal Khan’s name to the FIR during the investigation.
On June 2, outside Khan Sir’s coaching institute, violence reportedly broke out.
A security guard posted at the coaching premises suffered serious injuries in a brutal assault.
The defence has stated that Khan Sir has been falsely implicated in the case and that he had no direct involvement in the firing incident.
The police investigation has raised questions about the reason behind the firing, and the authorities are relying on the findings in the case diary.
Khan Sir had accused people connected to Gyan Bindu Coaching, including Roshan Anand, of being responsible for the violence and attack on his coaching centre.
During the police investigations, the CCTV footage reportedly did not support the earlier allegations that two of his security guards fired into the air.
