When an injured KL Rahul stepped up to bat for the hosts against Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday, and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were on the verge of an embarrassing loss in their own backyard. After the low-scoring match at Lucknow was over, RCB stars Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj were seen checking on the injured LSG skipper. Rahul had shown nothing but valor on the field.
In match No. 43 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, the Indian opener, and LSG skipper sustained an injury while fielding for the Super Giants. India opener Rahul batted at No. 11 in the IPL 2023 match in spite of a freak injury, but his innings failed to inspire Lucknow to a home victory over Bangalore.
Rahul only fielded three pitches against RCB, and the star batter even failed to score. After RCB recorded a renowned win over LSG, Rahul’s India partners Kohli and Siraj were seen having a gentle discussion with the injured hitter. The noteworthy acts that Kohli and Siraj performed for Rahul have also attracted the attention of internet users.
The Lucknow-put-together establishment had numerous mishaps with respect to matchday 43 of the IPL 2023. Pacer Unadkat suffered a shoulder injury prior to the IPL 2023 match, while former India vice-captain Rahul fell in the first powerplay. India’s world-class squad for the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia recently included Rahul and Unadkat.
Krunal Pandya, an all-rounder who skippered LSG in Rahul’s absence, has disclosed that the injured India opener has pulled his hip flexor muscle. It is unfortunate. I think Rahul pulled his hip flexor. I am unaware of its severity. At the post-match presentation, Pandya stated, “The medical team will evaluate it.”
