Match Preview: CSK VS SRH
Match Preview: CSK VS SRH- The Chennai Super Kings have yet to be defeated at home by Sunrisers Hyderabad. They have only played CSK three times in Chennai, but visiting teams have never been successful at Chepauk, where the Super Kings have won 19 of their last 23 games against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Although CSK has only played two home games, there are early indications that Chepauk is upholding his reputation and contributing to spin. This season, spinners have taken 16 wickets with an economy of 8.13, and fast bowlers have taken 11 wickets with an economy of 10.66.
Although the Rajasthan Royals fielded three world-class spinners in R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Adam Zampa, they were successful in their return to Chennai as champions for the first time since 2008. Despite this, they won the final ball by just three runs.
Spin attacks by Sunrisers lack the same depth. They have been using Washington Sundar and Mayank Markande, who have bowled 11 overs in five games without taking a wicket while keeping Akeal Hosein and Adil Rashid on the bench for team balance. Due to the conditions at Chepauk, will captain Aiden Markram attempt to bring in an international spinner?
Harry Brook, who has opened for the Sunrisers in recent games and scored a hundred, will also be put to the test by Spin. However, Brook’s century against the Kolkata Knight Riders would have been noted by MS Dhoni as successful against pace and circumspect against spin.
Sunrisers haven’t been the quickest starters with the bat this season by the same token: Their powerplay run rate of 7.13 is the lowest of all teams, while the Super Kings have the highest, with 9.86. So that they don’t leave themselves with too much work to do against the spinners in Chennai, they might have to approach this match in a different way and start attacking CSK’s quicks.
The two games in Chennai so far have had great batting and an adequate number of spinners. The cost of fast bowlers has been high, and this may continue. The weather conditions is supposed to be warm and muggy.
