In preparation for Maha Kumbh 2025, the Yogi government is devising a comprehensive action plan to ensure the safety of the millions of devotees expected to participate in the sacred bathing rituals at Sangam.
The plan involves collaboration between the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
Trained personnel from these agencies will be stationed at various ghats and within the waters of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Sangam, equipped with advanced technology to enhance safety measures.
With projections of over 50 crore devotees attending the event, the government aims to mitigate risks associated with the large influx of participants.
According to UP SDRF Commandant Satish Kumar, the action plan is under development, focusing on the deployment of battalions and strategic placement of officers at the ghats and in the water.
SDRF officials revealed that personnel will utilize underwater cameras, drones, speedboats, rescue boats, and ambulance boats, along with dragon lights to enhance visibility and safety.
Additionally, they will also deploy a sonar system, along with floating jetties, life buoys, rescue tubes, and throw bags, ensuring that immediate assistance is available at all times.
Meanwhile, the officials will utilize water drones to access areas that are difficult for trained divers to reach.
Additionally, wearing life jackets will be mandatory for devotees traveling to Sangam by boat.
A floating control room staffed with quick response teams will operate 24/7 to address any emergencies that may arise.
In response to the increasing number of bathing ghats, the government will implement deep-water barricading to further enhance safety measures.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed police and administrative officials to prioritize the safety of devotees. Committed to a ‘Safe Maha Kumbh,’ the Yogi government is implementing all necessary measures to ensure that attendees enjoy an exceptional experience and return home safely.
