In a Cabinet meeting chaired by CM Yogi Adityanath in Prayagraj, the Uttar Pradesh government approved 10 major proposals aimed at accelerating the state’s development.
Among the highlights was the introduction of the Aerospace and Defence Unit and Employment Promotion Policy 2024, designed to position Uttar Pradesh as a leader in the sector.
The newly launched policy targets Rs 50,000 crore in investments and aims to create direct employment opportunities for 1 lakh youth.
It also focuses on establishing Uttar Pradesh as a hub for aerospace and defence (A&D) manufacturing by developing a robust ecosystem within the UP Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC).

The policy however aligns with India’s self-reliance vision in defence and aims to significantly boost A&D exports and production.
The Cabinet also approved a new FDI Policy to attract foreign industries by offering up to 80% land subsidies.
Reforms in the UP Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy will likely propel industrial and economic growth in the state.
The Yogi government approved a Rs 106.51 crore subsidy under the Incentive Policy 2023 for land allotted to Ashok Leyland.
The project, which includes a facility for producing 2,500 buses annually and a center of excellence, is estimated to cost Rs 186 crore.
Under the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana, the government will procure 25 lakh smartphones for distribution to youth in higher education, technical training, and ITI programs.
A budget of Rs 4,000 crore has also allocated for the initiative, which aims to empower youth with technological skills.

The Cabinet meeting, held at the Triveni Complex in Prayagraj, also highlighted ongoing preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025, ensuring infrastructure and services are in place for the grand event.
The Yogi government’s decisions reflect its focus on industrial growth, employment generation, healthcare expansion, and youth empowerment, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a leader in development and innovation.
