Yoga Session Organized On International Yoga Day Under The Aegis Of Adani Foundation

On the occasion of Yoga Day, under the aegis of Adani Foundation, under the Adani Fortune Nutrition Project, a program was organized. It was intended to create awareness about yoga among the people through poster competition. The sessions was organised in the urban slums of Varanasi, Badi Gaibi, Nakkighat, Konia, Rajghat, Saraiya, Lallapura, Bazardiha, etc.

In the session the adolescent girls, women and children of the community were told about the benefits of yoga. The insightful session taught them correct methods of doing various types of asanas and yoga. Nadi Vaidya Yogacharya Shri Satendra Kumar and Smt. Pushpa Rani by explained their nuances. Instructors particularly emphasised the benefits of doing Shirshasana, Anulom Vilom, Surya Namaskar, Kapal Bharti, among others.

Not just the community present there learnt about Yoga they also pledged to integrate it into daily life. Women were were particularly encouraged to participate.

During the program, Nutrition Officer Mamta Yadav explained the rules of doing yoga and its benefits. The learnings also included the harm of not doing the Yoga Properly.

In a Yoga session by Adani foundation, a total of 663 beneficiaries from about 41 urban slums along with Anganwadi and Nutrition Sanginis received training in yoga practice.

Anganwadi workers of Child Development Project, Maya Devi, Geeta, Sushma, Meena and ASHA sisters of Health Department, Barkha, Chanda, Sita Rani, Jyoti along with Nutrition Assistant Officer Jugal Keshari, Sujata Yadav, Companion Preeti Maurya, Rita Devi, Renu, Soni, Bindu Patel, Reshma Parveen, Sana Afreen, Jyoti Chaudhary, Sonalika, Abida among others were present.
