Yamunotsav will be held on 2nd and 3rd November at Vasudev Ghat in Delhi. A preparatory meeting took place on Sunday at Triveni Seva Mission, Vishwa Ramayan Ashram Rashtra Mandir, Nangli Poona.
Yamuna Sansad is organising the event.
Convenor Ravi Shankar Tiwari and Rashtra Mandir founder Ajay Bhai urged people to show compassion for the purifying river Yamuna. They stressed that the river must remain clean, clear, and uninterrupted throughout the year.
On 2nd November, 1,100 women will take part in a Kalash Yatra. Pandits from Yamunotri and Mathura will perform a Jal Yagya with Vedic mantras using water brought from Yamunotri.
Street plays and a Yamuna exhibition will be held during the day. In the evening, Ajay Bhai will narrate the Yamuna Katha.
The Yamuna Conclave will take place on 3rd November. Professors from the River and Environment Department will attend, and Water and Environment ministers from the Centre and Delhi governments will be invited.
A Yamuna Aarti will also be held in the evening.
Ravi Shankar Tiwari further confirmed that Yamunotsav will be organised with the support of the government, religious leaders, political representatives, business groups, and the general public.
MLA Rajkumar Bhatia, Richa Pandey Mishra, Ravindra Gupta, Shyam Sunder Agarwal, Rajpal Rana, former Nepal MP Kedia, Baldev Gupta, Chandrabhushan Gupta, Jagmohan Gotewala, Devraj Baweja, Surendra Mohan Gupta, Trilok Goenka, Abhishek Ganediwala, Dr Praveen Sharma, Surendra Bidhuri, DU Professor Dr Ved Prakash, Than Singh Yadav, Santosh Shukla and many others attended the meeting.
