Woman Repeatedly Raped, Forced Into Abortion On Promise Of Marriage

A 32-year-old woman has come forward with disturbing allegations of repeated rape and coerced abortion at the hands of a man who had promised to marry her, as reported by Navi Mumbai police on Friday.

Following a formal complaint, authorities took action on Thursday and registered a case against the accused under sections 376(2)(n) (involving repeated rape of the same woman) and 313 (conducting a miscarriage without the mother’s consent) of the Indian Penal Code.

The victim, a resident of Kalamboli, recounted that the accused had initiated a friendship with her and made assurances of marriage. However, the accused allegedly subjected her to multiple instances of sexual assault in various locations, including Pune, Airoli, Panvel, and Kalamboli.
