A woman priest from Mandhya Pradesh has come forward with serious allegations of molestation against three male priests at a shrine in Indore. Frustrated by the lack of action taken against the accused, she has taken an extreme step and threatened to self-immolate if her plea for justice goes unheard.
Despite her efforts to have an FIR registered against the accused, the sadhvi claims that the police did not pay any heed to her complaint. In a desperate attempt to seek justice, she made her allegations public at the Indore Press Club. She vowed to set herself on fire in front of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s residence in Bhopal if no FIR is registered within the next 24 hours.
The woman priest is not alone in her fight for justice, she is supported by around half-a-dozen priests, including male counterparts. She disclosed that she had even approached State Home Minister Narottam Mishra, but no action has been taken so far.
Expressing her determination, the sadhvi emphasized that if her demands are not met, she will make her voice heard at every program attended by Chief Minister Chouhan. She also stated her intention to take the matter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah if necessary.
