“Who Needs Money Heist When…”: PM Modi Takes Swipe At Congress Over Massive Cash Discovery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress today for the substantial cash discovery during tax raids on Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu in Odisha. Income Tax officials uncovered ₹353.5 crore in cash from various properties linked to the MP. Modi, sharing a BJP video titled “Congress present the Money Heist,” sarcastically remarked, “Who needs ‘Money Heist’ fiction when you have the Congress Party, whose heists are legendary for 70 years and counting!”

The BJP’s spoof video, mimicking the popular show on X, showcased visuals of the seized cash with the original ‘Money Heist’ background score. The BJP accused the Congress of remaining silent on the issue, branding it as their “nature” regarding corruption.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, at the IIT Dhanbad convocation, referred to the incident, urging students to invent a fast currency-counting machine. Home Minister Amit Shah linked the Congress’s silence to a fear of corruption exposure, countering accusations of agency misuse against PM Modi.

BJP chief JP Nadda alleged that the seized “black money” is just a fraction of the Congress MP’s corruption. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defended the Congress, claiming the BJP-led government only targets them and called for similar raids on BJP leaders.

In response, Siddaramaiah emphasized adherence to the Income Tax Act and urged the I-T department to take legal actions against those amassing black money.
