Union Minister Chirag Paswan and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, who previously co-starred in a film, shared a light-hearted moment in Parliament today. A video captured the two young leaders exchanging a ‘low five’ this morning.
In 2011, Paswan and Ranaut appeared together in the movie “Miley Naa Miley Hum.” Although the film did not fare well, it marked a significant turning point for both. Chirag Paswan, then overshadowed by his father, the late Ram Vilas Paswan, transitioned to a political career. Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut went on to achieve significant success in the film industry.

Years and several elections later, Paswan and Ranaut find themselves as colleagues in Parliament rather than on a film set. Chirag Paswan has since emerged from his father’s shadow, establishing his own political identity. He now leads the LJP (Ram Vilas), a vital BJP ally that made a strong showing in the recent election, winning all five seats it contested. He serves as the cabinet minister in charge of the food processing industries portfolio, a role previously held by his father. Paswan, a two-time MP from Jamui, Bihar, currently represents the Hajipur constituency.
Kangana Ranaut, a first-time MP, was elected from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. She defeated the state’s minister and prominent candidate, Vikramaditya Singh, by a margin of nearly 75,000 votes. In addition to her political role, the national award-winning actress is promoting her upcoming movie “Emergency,” set to release on September 6.
