Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani has been admitted to Delhi’s Apollo Hospital after his health deteriorated. The 97-year-old BJP stalwart was hospitalised late on Friday night, marking his fourth hospitalisation in recent months.
While the exact cause for this latest hospitalisation remains unclear, doctors have confirmed that Advani’s condition is stable at present. Advani has faced health challenges over the past few months, but his condition now appears to be under control.

Lal Krishna Advani, a key figure in the BJP and a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was honoured with India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, earlier this year. Due to his health issues, he could not attend the ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan and was instead conferred the prestigious award at his residence.
Advani, a former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, has been instrumental in shaping India’s political landscape. He played a pivotal role in the Ram Mandir movement, particularly through his Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya in 1990, which mobilised massive support for the cause.
On November 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Advani at his residence to extend birthday wishes. Modi shared a photo on social media platform X, where he can be seen presenting a bouquet to the veteran leader. The Prime Minister captioned the image, “Visited Advani ji’s house to extend birthday wishes.”
In a post on X, Modi also expressed his heartfelt greetings: “Heartiest greeting to Advani ji on his birthday. This birthday is more special as the leader has been conferred with the Bharat Ratna this year. He is one of the respected leaders of the country who have dedicated their lives for the development of the country. I pray for his long and healthy life.”
Modi added, “Advaniji has always been respected for his intellect and rich insights. I am fortunate to have received his guidance for many years.”
