Ahead of the Phulpur by-election, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday reaffirmed his commitment to making the state riot-free.
Speaking at a public gathering in Sahason, CM Yogi vowed to take stringent action against all forms of mafia, including those involved in mining and academic malpractices, asserting that his government’s zero-tolerance approach is creating discomfort for political opponents like the Samajwadi Party (SP).
While appealing for support for BJP candidate Deepak Patel, CM Yogi emphasized that the ongoing development across Uttar Pradesh and India is a direct result of governance under the BJP.
Criticizing the SP, CM Yogi accused the party of prioritizing its own interests over public welfare.
He stated, “The Samajwadi Party has no connection with development. Their only focus has been on advancing the interests of the Saifai family. Infamous mafias are integral to their operations, thriving on criminal activities. SP despises fair examinations and governance.”
“For BJP, elections are a mission of service. But for SP and BSP, elections are merely a business venture. They are known for exploiting the public, fostering riots, enforcing curfews, and indulging in corruption. It’s essential to ensure they lose their electoral deposits to put an end to such practices,” the Chief Minister further added.
Highlighting the achievements of the BJP-led government, CM Yogi referred to major projects such as the Ganga Expressway, the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and industrial advancements, attributing their success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prominent leaders, including Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Nandi, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh, and MP Praveen Patel attended the rally.
Addressing the audience, CM Yogi explained his delayed arrival at the event, citing his involvement in addressing the aftermath of a fire incident at a hospital in Jhansi late Friday night.
Additionally, he expressed his commitment to balancing his administrative responsibilities with the demands of election campaigning.
