Uttar Pradesh CM Laid Foundation Stone Of Ashok Leyland Commercial EV Plant Established At Cost Of Rs. 1500 Crore

Earlier, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, MLA from Sarojini Nagar performed the bhoomi pujan of Ashok Leyland Commercial EV Plant to be established in Sarojini nagar industrial area at a cost of Rs. 1500 crore. This will create employment opportunities for about 10,000 youth expressed, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh. And Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of Ashok Leyland’s green transportation-focused commercial vehicle plant at Sarojini nagar Assembly in Lucknow.

World’s fourth-largest commercial vehicle manufacturing company

MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh performed the Bhoomi Pujan of the EV factory of Ashok Leyland, the world’s fourth-largest commercial vehicle manufacturing company, at Scooter India in Sarojini Nagar. The Bhoomi Pujan program was organized in the Scooter India area of Sarojini Nagar Assembly.

Sarojini nagar MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh performed the bhoomi pujan of the proposed plant of Ashok Leyland along with Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Suresh Khanna, Khadi and Village Industries Minister Rakesh Sachan, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh, Hinduja Group officials and other dignitaries.

Ashok Leyland factory will be set up on 70 acres of land in Scooter India of Sarojini Nagar assembly. The UP MLA stated, “In the last 7 years, under the visionary leadership of Yogi Adityanath, an environment of development, business and trust was created in UP, crime was controlled and enterprise expanded.”

He further expressed gratitude to CM Yogi saying, “For giving shape to the dream of setting up an EV Plant on the land of Scooter India gratitude from the Sarojini nagar family to the Chief Minister and officials of Hinduja Group.”

UP government’s achievements with EV promotion

India is the third largest petroleum importer in the world. Our country imports 4.5 to 5 million barrels of crude oil every day, for which about Rs 16 lakh crore is spent every year. Dr. Rajeshwar Singh explained, “Vehicle smoke contributes 25% in increasing environmental pollution, to deal with these challenges, CM Yogi is promoting decarbonizing transport.”

Today there are about 30 lakh EVs across the country, out of which 25% i.e. about 7.5 lakh EVs are in Uttar Pradesh only. Giving credits to the policy of UP CM, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh said, “This achievement is a pleasant result of Yogi ji’s EV Policy- 2022.”

By November 2023, a subsidy of Rs 13.11 crore has been provided to 4110 beneficiaries on EV purchase in UP, the establishment of Ashok Leyland’s electric vehicle factory in Sarojini nagar is also the result of this willpower
