In a move to enhance public convenience, the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department has launched nine vehicle-related services linked with Aadhaar authentication. This initiative follows Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directive to streamline services for vehicle owners.
Residents can now access services such as issuing duplicate registration certificates (RCs), special permits, fitness certificates, and duplicate driving licenses. Other services include changes to driving licenses (DLs), address updates in DLs, and DL replacements—all without needing to visit transport offices.
Transport Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Singh confirmed the implementation, stating: “These services are now faceless, meaning the public no longer needs to visit the office in person.”
The Transport Department plans to expand the Aadhaar-linked system to include more services. The goal is to simplify vehicle-related procedures and make them more accessible to residents across the state.
