Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi is back in the field. The leader earlier got his position back as Member of Parliament (MP) and now new about 2024 Lok Sabha elections have come up. Mr. Gandhi will be fighting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the ‘legacy’ seat of Congress Party, that is Amethi. This information came from Up’s new Congress Chief – Ajay Rai. It is being anticipated that LS elections of 2024 will witness Rahul Gandhi Vs Smriti Irani.

Ajay Rai takes jibe at Smriti Irani

‘Bilkool ladenge Amethi se,’ Ajay Rai said after he was asked whether Rahul Gandhi would be contesting from Amethi. UP Chief of congress even took a jibe at Smriti Irani and said, “Ask her whether she could make sugar available at ₹13 per kilo as she had promised. She must answer to the public where did that sugar go.”

Priyanka Gandhi’s contesting seat still in speculation

In the same conversation, Mr. Rai informed media that Priyanka Gandhi can contest from anywhere she wants. He further stated that even if she wants to fight from Varanasi, party workers will put all their efforts so that she emerges victorious.

Rahul Gandhi from Amethi, Wayanad?

Rahul Gandhi ran for office in 2019 from Amethi and Wayanad. Wayanad was his first foray into the South, whilst Amethi served as his legacy seat. After defeating Rahul Gandhi in Amethi, Smriti Irani gained fame as a giant-slaying champion. From Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi won a seat in the Lok Sabha. After being expelled from the Lok Sabha as a result of his conviction in the 2019 Modi surname case, it was uncertain if he would be eligible to run in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. As the Supreme Court temporarily stayed Rahul Gandhi’s conviction, his membership was restored.
