UP Budget 2023-24 LIVE: Uttar Pradesh Government Presents State Budget Worth Rs. 7 Lakh Crore

UP Budget 2023-24 LIVE: Uttar Pradesh Budget for the financial year 2023-24 will be presented in the Legislative Assembly today.

During the budget session, Governor Anandiben Patel will address a joint session of both houses– Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council. After this, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna will table Budget 2023-24.

UP budget 2023-24 will be the ‘largest budget’ to be tabled by the Uttar Pradesh government.

The main focus of the state budget is likely to be on infrastructure development, the health sector and education.

The budget size is likely to increase by around 8-10 per cent and it is expected to be around Rs 7 lakh crore, said a government source. This would be over Rs 50,000 crore more as compared to the previous budget size which stood around Rs 6.48 lakh crore, including Rs 33,000 crore raised through supplementary demands.

The state budget is all set to work on the infrastructure development, IT, health and education sectors. Moreover, this year’s budget will also work for the betterment of women, youth and the poor.

With the Global Investors Summit (GIS) receiving investment pledges worth Rs 33.5 lakh crore, the budget would have to focus on developing infrastructure in districts, other than the NCR region, in a bid to get investment proposals in these areas converted to reality on the ground.
