Union Minister Hardeep Puri Hails PM Modi’s RRTS Vision As A Leadership Lesson

Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, recently took to Twitter to express his admiration for the development of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and to commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership.

Puri’s Twitter Praise

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri used his Twitter platform to commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his pivotal role in the development of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS, hailing it as a “path-breaking initiative.”

Emphasis on Urban Mobility

In his tweets, Puri underlined the significance of this semi-high-speed rail system in enhancing urban mobility within the Delhi-NCR region.

BRTS in Gujarat

Puri also drew attention to a previous initiative led by Prime Minister Modi, where he introduced the concept of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) in Gujarat, which has contributed to improved transportation in the state.

Introduction of RRTS

The Union Minister highlighted the novelty of the RRTS concept, emphasizing that it connects towns and cities within a 150-kilometer distance. This pioneering initiative in India is poised to compete with the best global standards in the field of rapid transit systems.

Inauguration by Prime Minister

The timing of Puri’s tweets coincided with the forthcoming inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 17-kilometer priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS is scheduled for inauguration on October 20, with services between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot commencing on October 21.

Connectivity in the Priority Section
The priority section will offer vital connectivity to five stations along the route, including Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot.

Future Vision

Looking ahead, the comprehensive 82-kilometer-long RRTS corridor is expected to be fully operational by 2025. This high-speed corridor, boasting an average speed of 100 kilometers per hour, is poised to reduce travel time significantly.

Enhanced Connectivity

The RRTS corridor will enable swift and efficient travel, allowing commuters to cover the distance from Delhi to Meerut in less than an hour. This will pass through key cities including Ghaziabad, Muradnagar, and Modinagar.

Hardeep Singh Puri’s Twitter posts serve as a testament to the commitment to advance transportation infrastructure in the region, with a particular focus on modern, efficient, and sustainable urban mobility. The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS project represents a major leap forward in this endeavor.
