In a significant update concerning the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence, Mumbai’s Killa Court has remanded the two arrested accused to the custody of the Mumbai Crime Branch until April 25. The accused, identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) from Bihar, appeared before the court following a medical examination.
The Kachchh Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) AR Zankant disclosed that during preliminary interrogation, it emerged that the accused had connections with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The Mumbai Police, investigating the case, informed the Kuchchh Police about the presence of the accused in their jurisdiction. Following a coordinated effort, the Kuchchh Police apprehended the suspects and handed them over to the Mumbai Police.
Since November 2022, Salman Khan’s security has been upgraded to Y-Plus status due to threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Khan has been authorized to carry a personal firearm and has acquired an armored vehicle for enhanced protection.
Law enforcement agencies acted promptly following the firing incident, which occurred on Sunday morning outside Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan resides. Two unidentified assailants fired shots and fled the scene on a motorcycle, with their faces concealed under helmets. Preliminary investigations suggest meticulous planning behind the attack, with four rounds discharged, leaving a live cartridge at the scene.
Salman Khan’s brother and actor, Arbaaz Khan, expressed concern over the incident, emphasizing its unsettling impact on the family. He refuted claims made by purported family representatives suggesting the incident was a publicity stunt, affirming the family’s full cooperation with the Mumbai Police investigation.
