Two Shot Dead At An Eatery in Bihar’s Munger

Unidentified gunmen shot dead two people at an eatery on Saturday.  The event happened at a restaurant on the approach road to Sri Krishna Setu, according to an official.

He identified the deceased as Shastri Nagar residents Chandan Kumar and Manjit Mandal, both under Kasim Bazar police station.

The restaurant’s proprietor, Shankar Shah, claimed that the victims visited his establishment and offered him Rs 500 so he could get some food.

“After I served them the snacks in their car and returned to the shop, two bike-borne assailants arrived and opened fire on them indiscriminately. They then fled towards Sri Krishna Setu,” Shankar Shah said.

He said that the police are currently investigating the incident to uncover more details.

“We have called the FSL team to collect the evidence. The police team has recovered over one dozen dead cartridges from the scene. Manjit Mandal, one of the victims, was a property dealer and had a criminal history,” said SDPO Rajesh Kumar.

The postmortems have been ordered for both of the deceased, according to Sadar Range Munger SDPO Rajesh Kumar.
