At least three contract labourers were crushed to death and six others are feared injured when a large water tank collapsed at a public toilet in Sadguru Nagar, Bhosari, on Thursday morning, officials reported.
The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. as local workers were engaged in their morning routines, including bathing and washing clothes, in the toilet complex. Witnesses stated that approximately a dozen workers were taking baths near the taps when the tank suddenly gave way, crashing down into the facility and causing multiple casualties.
Emergency services, including the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police and Fire Brigade, quickly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations. Local residents reported hearing unusual sounds moments before the tank collapsed, releasing a significant volume of water in the area.
