CM MK Stalin Signs Rs 2,000 Crore MoU With Trilliant During US Visit

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, during his 17-day visit to the US, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs 2,000 crore with Trilliant on Thursday.

The agreement focuses on establishing Trilliant’s manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu and setting up a Development and Global Support Centre in the state, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

In addition, CM Stalin had a productive discussion with Nike about setting up a product creation and design centre in Tamil Nadu. He also met with officials from Optum, a healthcare company already employing 5,000 people in the state. The discussion centered on expanding Optum’s operations to Tiruchi and Madurai.

Stalin’s visit included meetings with major corporations in San Francisco and Chicago. He visited the headquarters of Google, Apple, and Microsoft, signing MoUs with these tech giants to secure investments for Tamil Nadu.

This trip follows the Tamil Nadu government’s signing of investment deals worth over Rs 6 lakh crore during the Global Investors Meet eight months ago.

CM Stalin’s US visit aligns with the state’s focus on embracing cutting-edge technologies and fostering a strong R&D and high-tech manufacturing ecosystem. Since assuming office in May 2021, he has visited several countries, including the UAE, Singapore, Japan, and Spain, to attract investments.

Notably, Tamil Nadu has become a hub for iPhone manufacturing, with key suppliers like Foxconn, Pegatron, and Tata Electronics expanding their operations. Bharat FIH will soon begin assembling Pixel phones and drones for Google in the state.
