Authorities have significantly tightened security ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) concluding public rally in Tamil Nadu, scheduled to take place on Sunday. Given the high-profile nature of the event, extensive precautions have been implemented to maintain law and order.
The public meeting, spearheaded by Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran, is scheduled for 5 PM at the Pallathivayal area near Balan Nagar in Tirukokarnam, Pudukkottai district.
As this rally marks the final phase of the party’s statewide campaign, a large gathering of party workers and supporters is expected.
In light of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s participation, police have enforced a complete ban on the use of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in and around the rally venue for the day.
Officials clarified that the move is purely preventive in nature and aimed at averting any untoward incidents.
Authorities have also warned that stringent legal action will be taken against anyone found violating the drone restriction. Senior police officials continue to supervise the security arrangements closely to ensure full compliance.
A comprehensive, multi-layered security system has been put in place at the rally grounds. Frisking and verification points have been established at all entry routes to regulate access and prevent unauthorised entry.
Barricades have been installed to manage crowd movement efficiently. Dedicated surveillance teams have also been deployed in and around the venue.
Additional police personnel have been stationed along major roads to oversee traffic flow and maintain public safety.
Politically, the concluding rally is viewed as a key platform for the BJP to energise its cadres and strengthen its organisational presence in Tamil Nadu ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections. Several senior State and district-level leaders are expected to be present on the dais alongside HM Amit Shah.
Police officials have appealed to the public to cooperate with the security arrangements. They have also urged people to adhere to the restrictions imposed for the event.
Motorists have been advised to anticipate traffic diversions in the vicinity of the venue during rally hours. They have also been asked to plan their journeys accordingly.
Authorities have assured that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of participants. They have also emphasised the safety of the general public. These steps will facilitate the peaceful and orderly conduct of the high-profile political gathering.
