Shooting in Kulgam
Shooting in Kulgam: In a Friday confrontation with terrorists in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, three Army soldiers were killed, according to officials. Following a piece of information regarding the presence of terrorists there, security personnel conducted a cordon and search operation. It was conducted in the upper reaches of the Halan forest area of the Kulgam district in south Kashmir, a police officer said.
The police officer claimed that after the terrorists fired at the security personnel, who backfired, the search operation turned into an encounter. Three members of the security forces were hurt during the firing on the spot. The official claimed that they died because of their injuries, they were really severe.
“Operation Halan #Kulgam. On specific inputs regarding presence of terrorists on higher reaches of Halan in Kulgam, operations launched by Security Forces on 04 Aug 23. In exchange of firing with terrorists, three personnel sustained injuries and later succumbed. Search operations are continuing,” Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Army said in a tweet.

Another news came from the area recently when the missing army personnel – Javaid Ahmed was found. He was recovered on Thursday in the Kulgam area from where he went missing. The Jawan was posted in the Ladakh region but he was on leave when he was reportedly nabbed by terrorists.
“Missing Army jawan has been recovered by Kulgam Police. Joint interrogation will start shortly after medical checkup. Further details shall follow,” Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Kashmir Vijay Kumar said in a tweet.
Interrogation was going on after complete medical check up of the Jawan. It was to see if the health conditions of the nabbed Jawan were fine. Army then has to know what all happened after the army man finally declared fit.
