Thiruvananthapuram Erupts As PM Modi’s Roadshow Enthrals Thousands

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow through the streets of Thiruvananthapuram on Friday transformed the state capital into a vibrant spectacle, with thousands gathering along the route to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister.

The event blended political significance with visible public emotion, reflecting the heightened mood in the city.

PM Modi is in Thiruvananthapuram to inaugurate a series of Central government projects, unveil a development roadmap for the capital, and participate in celebrations marking the BJP’s historic victory in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.

The win is the party’s first-ever success in a municipal corporation in Kerala, ending 45 years of uninterrupted CPI(M)-led Left rule.

The Prime Minister’s convoy slowed and briefly halted just before reaching the meeting venue, heightening anticipation along the crowd-packed stretch of road.

Moments later, PM Modi stepped out of his vehicle, stood on the side step, and waved to the massive gathering lining both sides of the street.

The spontaneous pause triggered deafening cheers as supporters raised slogans, waved saffron flags, and held up mobile phones to capture the moment.

The Prime Minister also responded with folded hands and repeated waves, acknowledging the crowd’s affection as the atmosphere turned euphoric.

From early morning, BJP workers, supporters, and residents lined the route from the airport to the meeting venue, converting Thiruvananthapuram’s arterial roads into corridors of colour, sound, and anticipation.

Drumbeats, cheers, and slogans accompanied the slow-moving convoy through the city.

Beyond the spectacle, the roadshow highlighted the political narrative the BJP seeks to project in Kerala — a combination of development-focused messaging and growing organisational strength in the heart of the state capital.
