Ved Pratap Vaidik breathed his last at the age of 78 today. Dr Vaidik was a famous journalist in the country and he also was a well-known face of the country. He interviewed terrorist Hafiz Saeed in 2014.
The report says that senior journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik has passed away and the reason for his death is said to be his falling in the bathroom of his house.
Senior Journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik is known as the third front of Indian diplomacy. He was one of the prime negotiators of the Indian government from the time of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. The knowledgeable veteran journalist was an expert of south-Asian as well as global issues.
The reports say that he had slipped in the bathroom of his house located at Gurugram and due to that he died. This incident happened at around 9 in the morning. Immediately after the accident, he was taken to Pratiksha Hospital in Gurugram where doctors declared him dead.
Dr Vedpratap Vaidik was 78 years and he is known for the interview of one of the most wanted global terrorists, Hafiz Said. It was he who negotiated with the dreaded terrorist during the Kandhar Plan Hijack incident in 1999. And after fifteen years it was Dr Vaidik only, who did Hafij’s interview in Karachi, Pakistan in 2014.
The expert in foreign affairs had his own friendly relations with most of the big shots around the world. Be it Taliban leaders or Pakistan top leaders, everybody knew him and respected Dr Vaidik.
Dr Ved Pratap Vaidik was born in 1944 in Indore. At the age of sixteen only he had started his journalism journey from the year 1958 onwards. Also known as one of the top political analysts of the country, was an alumnus of Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Delhi.
