The Central Advisory Council, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind expresses concern over rapidly deteriorating social, political and economic situation in the country

National situation

This meeting of the Central Advisory Council, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind expresses its concern over the changes taking place in the country and the rapidly deteriorating social, political, and economic situation. Things like growing hatred in society, narrowing scope of religious freedom, incidents of violence against minorities especially Muslims, increasing feelings of insecurity in places of worship, etc. have reached dangerous levels and are rapidly weakening the social fabric of the country. Politics based on self-interest and communal hatred, the increasing role of wealth in politics, the growing influence of capitalists on national policies, and the increasing number of people with criminal mindset in politics are constantly weakening the country. The decline of democratic values in the country, undermining the autonomy of democratic institutions, and efforts to suppress dissent and freedom of opinion through misuse of government institutions have become commonplace and are adversely affecting the country’s reputation globally. The country’s wealth has grown tremendously over the past few years, but a large section of the population remains deprived of its fruits. The increasing economic disparity among the people, the concentration of the country’s wealth in a few hands, and the continuous increase in inflation and unemployment have exacerbated economic depression and dissatisfaction among the people of the country and different classes, especially the youth and farmers. Anxiety towards government policies is increasing day by day. According to the JIH Central Advisory Council, this is a very worrying situation. The Central Advisory Council of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind feels that the real responsibility for solving these problems rests with the government. Therefore, it appeals to the people to actively participate in the ongoing elections and to use their opinion while electing their representatives in favor of such persons who give priority to the welfare of the country and the service of the society and can offer a solution to the above-mentioned issues. The JIH Central Advisory Council also feels that in the current environment of elections, complaints of not providing a level playing field to the opposition parties is a fatal trend for any democracy. Similarly, hate speeches and election narratives that create divisiveness among the people are in clear violation of the Constitution of India and the law of the land and are seriously harmful to the country. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission of India to pay special attention to ensure that the conduct of these elections is based on justice and fairness, the law of the land, and democratic traditions.

Global situation

This meeting of the Central Advisory Council, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind feels that global peace is under serious threat at the moment. The war between Russia and Ukraine has affected millions of people for a long time. However, currently, the most alarming situation is the ongoing Israeli aggression on Palestine for the past six months. The barbaric crimes that Israel is continuously committing against the Palestinian people have broken all previous records of cruelty and brutality. Undoubtedly, Israel is guilty of the worst genocide in Palestine. The manifestations of public anger and outrage against this brutality throughout the world including in Western countries are welcome. The concerned governments should take immediate notice of the restlessness of the public. However, in this conflict, Israeli aggression is directly or indirectly supported by the rulers of most Western countries. Also, the indifference of Muslim countries in this matter is very tragic. Consequently, the most cruel and brutal character of Israel has come to the fore, which is unprecedented in the recent history of the world. The JIH Central Advisory Council strongly condemns the attacks on the poor people, children, and women of Palestine by Israel and its systematic genocide. It strongly demands that Western countries, especially the United States to stop its unjust support to Israel. Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind also appeals to the international community to rise above mere statements and resolutions take decisive action and immediately stop this series of massacres to ensure peace in Palestine and rehabilitate the victims. It should manage and play a positive role in restoring the full independence of Palestine and also punish the war criminals of Israel. The JIH Central Advisory Council also feels that now this conflict is not only limited to Israel and Palestine, but it has engulfed the entire Middle East. The whole world will suffer from unrest and economic crisis. Therefore, immediate and decisive action by the international community and the United Nations has become mandatory. The Central Central Advisory Council, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind also demands the Government of India to use its influence to play its part in resolving this dispute. The JIH Central Advisory Council feels that a large number of people in India want to help the oppressed people of Palestine. It therefore, appeals to the Government of India to facilitate the transfer of the aid, relief, and help of the Indian people to the Palestinians.
