Kanpur : The body of a girl was found hanging from a tree in the primary school premises in Jogin Dera Basanti village of Chaubepur police station area on Thursday morning. Police reached the spot after receiving information and started investigation by taking possession of the body. Police say that prima facie the case appears to be a suicide.
Nevertheless, post-mortem will be conducted to find out the clear cause of death. Assistant Police Commissioner Bilhaur Ajay Kumar Trivedi said that the body of Priya, 20-year-old daughter of Khootanath, resident of Jogin Dera Basanti village of Chaubepur, was found hanging in a tree in the premises of Primary School II located outside the village on Thursday morning.
Police reached the spot after receiving the information and started investigation by taking possession of the body. During interrogation, the family members told police that no one was able to know when she left the house on Wednesday night due to certain reasons.
On Thursday morning, when the villagers saw her dead body hanging in the school premises, they informed family and the police. “Prima facie it seems that the girl has committed suicide due to some reasons. Nevertheless, post mortem will be conducted to know the clear cause of death,” said Ajay Kumar Trivedi.
