Teen Raped By Friends She Met On Social Media In Delhi, Two Arrested

On Friday, an 18-year-old woman was allegedly drugged and raped by two men who were her friends on social media.

According to the Police, the accused were taken into custody on Thursday from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, based on a complaint that was filed at the Ambedkar Nagar police station on Wednesday.

The woman filed a complaint alleging that on Monday at 1:00 pm, she received a call from the men at a Madangir-signaled intersection. She said that she refused their request to sit on their scooter. Police said that she consented to travel with the men after they threatened her with severe consequences, citing her complaint.

After taking her to Malviya Nagar, the men fed her. The complaint stated that she felt lightheaded after eating the food as it was laced with drugs.

The woman claimed that after becoming conscious, she realized she had been sexually assaulted. According to police, the accused, who are 19 and 21 years old, were taken into custody based on sections 376-D (gang rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
