Tamil Nadu Governor: Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla Holds Comparable Significance to August 15, 1947

Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi declared the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya as a momentous occasion comparable to August 15, 1947, marking a transformative era towards Ram Rajya and national development. Addressing the “Chennayil Ayodhya” event, he expressed that the arrival of Ram Lalla symbolized a significant turning point, likening it to the pivotal day of India gaining independence from foreign rule.

Ravi emphasized the profound significance of the day, stating, “I would say this day is as significant as the 15th of August 1947 when we became independent from foreign control. The alien powers which colonized us left.” Describing the inception of Ram Rajya as a longstanding dream deeply embedded in the Indian ethos, he recalled its prominence during the framing of the Indian constitution.

The Governor noted that the dream of establishing Ram Rajya, present from the early days of independence, found representation in the original Constitution through the painting of Sri Rama Pattabhishekam. Despite the removal of the painting over time, Ravi highlighted the return of Ram, signaling a new journey toward realizing the vision of Ram Rajya.

Highlighting the inseparable connection between Sri Ram and Bharat, Ravi asserted that one could not imagine a Bharat without the presence of Sri Ram. He observed the pervasive influence of Sri Ram’s presence across the country, permeating various aspects of culture, including Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam. He pointed out the irony that even those who opposed Sri Rama, like the rationalist Periyar E V Ramasamy, had “Ram” in their names.

Turning attention to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in laying the foundation for Ram Rajya, Ravi acknowledged the ongoing challenges posed by forces advocating division based on race, religion, and language. Without explicitly naming anyone, he expressed confidence in overcoming such divisive forces for the greater unity of society.
