Vidhya Philippon
Swiss national Vidhya Philippon, born on February 8, 1996, has devoted a decade to unraveling the mystery of her biological mother’s whereabouts in Mumbai. Abandoned at the Missionaries of Charity as an infant, she found a new home in 1997 with a Swiss couple who took her to Switzerland.
Returning to India, Vidhya undertook a heartfelt quest to trace her roots in Rawal Pada, Dahisar, and Mumbai. Her journey led her to Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Vile Parle, where her mother left her, and the now-nonexistent address in Dahisar.

Assisting Vidhya in her poignant search is Advocate Anjali Pawar, Director of Adoptee Rights Council. Anjali revealed that the family surname is ‘Kambli,’ and while the Missionaries of Charity provided some information, the rapidly changing dynamics of Mumbai pose challenges to locating the specific address.
An emotional appeal from Anjali called upon residents of Dahisar during that time to contribute any information. One social worker has already provided a lead. Vidhya, speaking to ANI, shared her decade-long pursuit of her 20-year-old mother’s identity, expressing a deep desire for assistance from the people of Mumbai, particularly those in Dahisar, to help uncover the missing pieces of her past.
