Swami Rambhadracharya Clarifies Remarks On Premanand Maharaj Amid Controversy

Spiritual guru Swami Rambhadracharya on Monday issued a clarification after his remarks on renowned saint Premanand Maharaj sparked backlash from the saint community.

The controversy arose after a podcast statement, which many listeners interpreted as disrespectful towards Premanand Maharaj.

Swami Rambhadracharya insisted his words were misunderstood and taken out of context.

He stated, “I did not make any derogatory comments about Premanand Maharaj. He is like a son to me. I only said that every Hindu should study Sanskrit. Some individuals are delivering sermons without knowing Sanskrit, and I advise my disciples and others to learn it.”

Stress on Sanskrit and Indian Culture

The guru underlined the importance of preserving Sanskrit and Indian culture. He called them two strong pillars of the nation.

“Sanskrit and Indian culture are the foundations of our heritage. It is every Hindu’s duty to protect them,” he said.

He revealed that he continues to study for 18 hours a day and plans to maintain the practice.

“I have never disrespected Premanand Maharaj or used insulting language. I only said that Sanskrit is essential to understand Indian culture. All saints are dear to me and will remain so,” he added.

Clarification to Quell Discontent

Swami Rambhadracharya also expressed his readiness to bless Premanand Maharaj whenever he visits.

He said, “The rumours spread about me are false. My statement has been misrepresented. I have never spoken ill of Premanand Maharaj or any other saint.”

The controversy followed a podcast remark where he appeared to challenge Premanand Maharaj.

He reportedly said, “If there are truly miracles, then I challenge Premanand Ji to speak a single word of Sanskrit in front of me or explain the meaning of a Sanskrit verse I recite.”

The statement angered followers and members of the saint community. In response, Swami Rambhadracharya issued this clarification to end the growing dispute.
