Surat Diamond Bourse launch: PM Shares Roadmap For Next 25 Years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated at the opening ceremony of the world’s largest workplace and the nation’s cutting-edge diamond trading hub on Sunday that the Surat Diamond

Bourse is a representation of the new India’s power and will. A new terminal for Surat Airport and its position as an international airport are two more presents that the people of Surat have received, according to PM Modi during his speech.

The Prime Minister stated that in light of India’s economic growth, his government has developed a plan for the ensuing 25 years.
Prime Minister Modi stated, “Whether the aim is to reach a 5-trillion-dollar economy or a 10-trillion-dollar economy, the government has fixed the target for the next 25 years and we are working on it.” He also mentioned that his administration is attempting to raise the nation’s export sector to all-time highs. In addition, he reaffirmed his goal of placing India’s economy in the top three globally during his “third term.”

He continued by saying that “Modi’s guarantee” is what led to the creation of the Surat Diamond Bourse. Surat is currently one of the world’s top ten emerging cities. Street cuisine in Surat, skill development activities, it’s all so good. Surat was once known as ‘Sun City’. But today the people here, with their hard work have made it ‘diamond city’,” he said.
The Surat Diamond Bourse building, the world’s largest office complex with more than 67 lakh square feet of floor area, is located at Khajod village near Surat city.
It will be a global centre for trading both rough and polished diamonds as well as jewellery, as per an official statement.

It will comprise a state-of-the-art ‘Customs Clearance House’ for import and export, a jewellery mall for retail jewellery business and a facility of international banking and safe vaults, it said.

Several diamond traders, including those based in Mumbai earlier, have already taken possession of their offices, which were allotted by the management after the auction, SDB’s media convener Dinesh Navadiya said in a statement recently.
