Sultanpur: Court Sentences Sanjay Singh 3 Months Imprisonment, AAP MP Convicted In 21-Year-Old Case

AAP Leader Sanjay Singh Sentenced: A court in Sultanpur has sentenced five others, including Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh and former Samajwadi Party MLA Anup Sanda, to three months imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1500 on him. The MP-MLA court delivered the verdict in the 21-year-old case, which was registered  21 years ago on June 19, 2001.

According to the police, people had blocked the road and staged a massive protest against the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh led by Rajnath Singh. The protest was against regular power cuts and improper water supply in Sultanpur city. The localists were so  frustrated with this improper management of the town .Which leads to massive protest against Bhartiya Janta Party in Sultanpur

MP will appeal in the High Court

Public prosecutor Vaibhav Pandey said that the police had registered a case against Aam Aadmi Party MPs Sanjay Singh, Anup Sanda, supporters Vijay Kumar, Kamal Srivastava, Santosh Kumar and Subhash for blocking the road and demonstrating. AAP MP Sanjay Singh was present in the court during the pronouncement of the verdict in this case. The Aam Aadmi Party MP accused the BJP government of failing, to deal with their own promises and to deal with protests peacefully. Sanjay Singh had said that at that time he had demonstrated when there was no electricity and water for 36 hours. The people were in dark with  no proper food and water. The AAP leader said that he would appeal against the sentence in the High Court.

Police had registered the case

Please tell that in the year 2001, Sanjay Singh started a movement on the issue of electricity and water. Anoop Sanda, Kamal Srivastava, Santosh Kumar and Subhash Chowdhary were also involved in this movement. Regarding this movement, the local police had registered a case named in other cases including obstructing government work. This matter was going on in the MP-MLA court. Now after 21 years, the MP-MLA court has convicted Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh and 5 others and sentenced them to three months imprisonment.
