Ekta Nagar, home to the world’s tallest statue — the 182-metre Statue of Unity — turned into a mesmerising panorama of lights during the Bharat Parv celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Thousands of visitors thronged the venue as the entire region shimmered under spectacular illuminations that symbolised the spirit of unity and pride.
The celebrations began on Sunday night and will continue for around ten days.
Major attractions such as the Jungle Safari, Cactus Garden, Butterfly Garden, Circuit House, Ekta Mall, and administrative buildings glittered with vibrant hues, creating a festive atmosphere that extended across the Narmada River’s banks.
In keeping with Indian tradition, where light represents the triumph of knowledge and spiritual strength, Ekta Nagar shone like a radiant jewel.
From the towering Statue of Unity to the Sardar Sarovar Dam, tricolour laser beams illuminated the night sky, transforming the landscape into a living canvas of patriotism and cultural pride.
Local artisans and designers played a pivotal role in creating this spectacle, blending cutting-edge lighting technologies with traditional motifs.
The artistic installations spanned nearly seven kilometres from Ekta Dwar to the Statue of Unity, showcasing intricate floral designs, golden accents, and classical motifs.
Tourists also captured the glowing scenes in countless photographs, turning the illumination into a viral social media phenomenon.
The festival not only celebrated Sardar Patel’s legacy but also showcased India’s craftsmanship and technological innovation.
The ‘Prakash Parv Pavilion’ emerged as a major attraction, featuring five advanced lighting systems — LED, RGB Neon Flex, Colour Laser Projection, Smart Synchronised, and Solar-powered illumination.
A 530-metre stretch from the main road to the Valley of Flowers dazzled with ceiling lights, interactive selfie points, and photobooths that resembled a galaxy of colours.
The 140-metre-long Glow Tunnel captured visitors’ imagination with themed installations inspired by ISRO’s Chandrayaan Mission, Operation Sindoor, and iconic Indian landmarks like Somnath, Dwarka, and Dakor.
Artistic depictions of flora, fauna, and national symbols added depth and diversity to the luminous displays.
Jointly organised by the Central and Gujarat state governments, the Bharat Parv celebrations embodied the theme of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
Folk art, regional music, handicrafts, and traditional cuisine from across India added to the festive grandeur.
A mesmerising light-and-sound show at the Sardar Sarovar Dam and laser projections on the Statue of Unity concluded the celebrations, leaving visitors awe-inspired.
The spectacle not only honoured the Iron Man of India but also reaffirmed the enduring message of unity, strength, and progress that Sardar Patel stood for.
