Special CRPF Recruitment Initiative Announced For Assam’s Mising Community: HM Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced a special recruitment drive for Assam’s Mising community. The initiative aims to induct Mising youth into the Central Reserve Police Force.

He described the community’s cultural legacy as a symbol of Assam’s future and a vital contributor to the nation’s identity.

Shah announced while addressing a large gathering at the Mising Youth Festival in Dhemaji district.

He stated that the Central government remains firmly committed to protecting, promoting, and honouring Mising traditions.

The government works under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shah opened his address with the chant of “Bharat Mata ki Jai.” He extended greetings to the community and expressed deep admiration for their cultural values.

He said he felt privileged to attend the festival. Missing the occasion would have meant losing a rare opportunity to witness a meaningful cultural celebration.

Mising Youth Empowerment Initiatives

The Home Minister said the Mising culture is integral to Assam’s identity. It reflects the spirit of the state and the nation.

He recalled the Mising community’s role in India’s freedom struggle and said their sacrifices to nation-building remain unforgettable.

Highlighting the community’s close bond with nature, Shah noted that such festivals showcase values of environmental balance and peaceful coexistence.

He said these traditions offer lessons relevant to modern development models.

Shah announced special provisions to increase Mising youth representation in national security forces, especially the CRPF.

He assured that the government will implement concrete measures to create structured opportunities for young people to serve the nation..

Shah also spoke about broader development initiatives in Assam. He recalled performing the foundation ceremony for the second legislative assembly building in Dibrugarh.

He highlighted the upcoming Jagiroad semiconductor plant, expected to create jobs for nearly 27,000 youths.

The Home Minister reaffirmed that the Central government remains committed to inclusive growth.

It safeguards the cultural heritage of indigenous communities across Northeast India.
