Skill India Digital Hub Boosts Youth Empowerment And Job Creation: Union Minister

As of June, the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) platform has registered approximately 8.8 million candidates, with 959,000 mobile app downloads and 763,000 candidates enrolled in online courses.

SIDH provides access to 752 online courses, totaling 737,000 minutes of digital content for learners. Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development, highlighted that the platform’s core mission is to offer a comprehensive resource for skill enhancement, including industry-relevant courses, job opportunities, and entrepreneurship support.

The Minister emphasized that SIDH integrates two major government initiatives—Skill India and Digital India. It aims to support India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) by enhancing skill development, education, employment, and entrepreneurship.

The platform also seeks to collaborate with MSMEs to provide access to entrepreneurship schemes and offers both courses and apprenticeship opportunities to learners.

Additionally, there are 19 National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) exclusively for women out of a total of 33. These women-focused NSTIs offer 19 courses under the Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) and 23 courses under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS).
