Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is set to initiate RFID registration at the Katra railway station, aiming to enhance safety, convenience, and ease for devotees during peak rush periods. CEO Anshul Garg stated that multiple registration counters will be established at the railway station to manage queues effectively.
In ongoing efforts to enhance the pilgrimage experience, the Board plans to organize a laser show at Banganga based on Mata Ki Kahani for devotees following traditional routes. Development projects include creating holding areas at Adhkuwari with a capacity for 2,500 to 3,000 pilgrims, ensuring efficient crowd management.
Anshul Garg highlighted the construction of a new Vaishnavi Bhawan, accommodating 300 pilgrims daily, with provisions for a Bhojanalya and washrooms for a pleasant stay. Inspired by landmarks like the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Dham, and Golden Temple, the Board plans to illuminate Darshni Deodi, Adhkuwari, and main Bhawan with digitally-controlled, multi-colored LED lights during Chaitra Navratri.

With a record-breaking 95.22 lakh pilgrims in 2023, the Board focuses on upgrading pilgrim-centric facilities. An emphasis on yatra management includes the Skywalk at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan and the revamped Parvati Bhavan. The Atka area has been expanded to accommodate more pilgrims during morning and evening prayers, witnessing monthly attendance of 20,000 to 25,000.
The addition of a third langar facility at Bhairon Ji, following Tarakote Marg and Sanjichhat, enables 8,000 to 10,000 pilgrims to benefit from free meals daily along the track, reflecting the Board’s commitment to continuous improvement in pilgrim services.
