TS Singh Deo
TS Singh Deo, the deputy chief minister of Chhattisgarh, said that although the results are encouraging, he thinks the Congress will win 60 of the state’s 90 seats. Nearly all exit polls in the state are giving the party an advantage.
In an exclusive interview on Thursday, Mr. Deo was questioned about his prospects for becoming chief minister in the event that the party’s victory total drops much from the 68 seats it won the previous time. He claimed that the party’s leaders got together and determined to avoid allowing any room for conjecture.
The senior leader openly discussed the issues the party was facing as a result of it, even though he and Bhupesh Baghel had a falling out over the chief minister position.
“A single-line directive will be sent to the high command, and we will stand united behind whoever they designate to be the chief minister.” We’re not going to let groupthink and conjecture get the better of us. We have endured hardships over the past five years due to this count; the two and a half proved to be a significant load. The problem was really tough to handle and resulted in a lot of unpleasant circumstances. We hope that doesn’t happen again,” he remarked.
