TS Singh Deo, the deputy chief minister of Chhattisgarh, said that although the results are encouraging, he thinks the Congress will win 60 of the state’s 90 seats. Nearly all exit polls in the state are giving the party an advantage.

In an exclusive interview on Thursday, Mr. Deo was questioned about his prospects for becoming chief minister in the event that the party’s victory total drops much from the 68 seats it won the previous time.
