The gunmen involved in the firing outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s residence have died following a police encounter. Both sustained critical injuries during the exchange of fire and were taken to the hospital, but were later declared dead.
The deceased have been identified as Ravinder of Rohtak, Haryana, and Arun of Sonipat, Haryana. They were linked to the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang and were wounded in a shootout near Tronica City, Ghaziabad.
The encounter was conducted jointly by the Delhi Police Special Cell, Uttar Pradesh STF and Haryana STF.
The shooting incident occurred in the early hours of 12 September 2025, around 3:45 AM, outside the actress’s family home.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had immediately called for swift action and disclosure.
Through technical analysis, CCTV surveillance, and cross-checking with crime records across neighbouring states, investigators traced the suspects. In the subsequent operation, both men were seriously injured.
Weapons, ammunition and a motorcycle were recovered from the spot, with police confirming that the attackers used foreign-made firearms before fleeing.
On the morning of 12 September, the assailants fired eight to ten rounds at the residence, where Patani’s father, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagdish Singh Patani, her mother, and her sister Khushboo Patani were present.
The Goldy Brar faction, aligned with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, later claimed responsibility for the attack. They alleged the act was in retaliation to remarks attributed to Khushboo Patani against Hindu religious figures Sant Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj.
The Bishnoi network has recently stepped up its activities against public figures.
In the past months, they have been linked to firing incidents outside Salman Khan’s Mumbai apartment and comedian Kapil Sharma’s café in Canada.
The gang has also been blamed for the killings of Punjabi singer-songwriter Sidhu Moose Wala and politician Baba Siddique.
