Shivba Sanghatana Chief Manoj Jarange-Patil Launches 7-Day Campaign For Maratha Quota Awareness

Manoj Jarange-Patil, chief of Shivba Sanghatana, has initiated a week-long campaign across Marathwada aimed at raising awareness about the pending issue of Maratha quotas and urging community members to exercise restraint.

The campaign, scheduled to commence on Saturday, will span multiple phases starting from Hingoli and concluding in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on 13 July, covering districts like Beed, Nanded, Osmanabad, Latur, and Jalna, with massive rallies planned throughout.

Speaking briefly to media personnel in Jalna, Jarange-Patil emphasized the significance of the Hyderabad gazette, which recognizes ‘Maratha-Kunbis’ and ‘Kunbi-Marathas’, urging the government to take necessary steps to implement the demand for ‘sage-soyare’ (bloodline).

The Justice Sandeep Shinde Committee is likely to visit Hyderabad from Monday for a four-day period to verify and gather details from the state gazette pertaining to these communities.

Jarange-Patil commenced his campaign journey from Antarwali-Sarati village towards Hingoli earlier today, accompanied by thousands of supporters.

At Balsond, a grand 30-foot garland of roses, hoisted by a crane, welcomed him, after which he paid homage at a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The peace-cum-awareness march began around 11:30 AM, traversing various areas and concluding with a public meeting at 3 PM.

Jarange-Patil responded to media queries about potential candidates for the October Assembly elections, stating that a decision would follow the conclusion of the ongoing campaign on 13 July.

Meanwhile, he had previously threatened to field Maratha candidates in all 288 Assembly seats, targeting the ruling MahaYuti coalition of Shiv Sena, BJP, and NCP if their demands went unmet.

The campaign however marks a significant mobilization effort by Shivba Sanghatana, aiming to galvanize support and bring attention to the longstanding issue of Maratha quotas in Maharashtra.
