Shah, Yogi Distribute Appointment Letters To 60,244 UP Police Recruits, Including 12,000 Women

In a historic ceremony on Sunday, Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to 60,244 newly selected police personnel at the Defence Expo Ground in Vrindavan’s Sector 18, including over 12,000 women recruits.

As the event began, Shah praised CM Yogi Adityanath for ensuring a transparent and inclusive selection process. He stressed that none of the recruits paid a single rupee as bribe. Furthermore, he said the Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment had become a benchmark for fairness and merit.

Focus on equal opportunity

Moreover, the Home Minister emphasised that the recruitment gave equal opportunity to candidates from every caste, district, and tehsil. He said the process involved no bribes, no recommendations, and no discrimination.

In addition, he highlighted that over 12,000 women joined the force, calling it a proud achievement. He credited the Yogi-led government for ensuring full implementation of women’s reservation in police jobs.

Reflecting on the past, Shah said that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh suffered from a deteriorating law-and-order situation. However, since the BJP came to power, the state police force had seen a remarkable transformation. “The Goonda Raj is over. Law now rules, not criminals,” he declared.

Significantly, Shah attributed the fairness of the recruitment to modern technology. He listed tools such as surveillance cameras, control rooms, command centres, PCR vans, and 150 mobile forensic labs.

According to Shah, these tools ensured efficiency and transparency.

Looking ahead, Shah discussed the Modi government’s push to modernise India’s justice system. He announced the coming rollout of the Indian Justice Code, Civil Defence Code, and Indian Evidence Code. These reforms, he said, would ensure justice from FIR to Supreme Court within three years.

He further noted the role of systems like CCTNS and ICJS, which improve police coordination and criminal tracking. Additionally, he credited enhanced forensic capabilities with strengthening law enforcement.

Shah also touched on broader cultural developments. He mentioned the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, the revival of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the ban on triple talaq, and the new Waqf law. Moreover, he celebrated India’s Moon mission success, with the south pole site now named ‘Shiv Shakti’.

In conclusion, Shah said the Uttar Pradesh Police now had nearly four lakh personnel. He congratulated CM Yogi Adityanath for leading a transparent and visionary administration. As a result, the Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment process now stood as a model for the entire nation.
