Trains and Flights delayed
Amidst the fog and low visibility, several trains and flights are delayed from their scheduled time. Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) provided shelter homes for homeless people.
Isolated snowfall or rainfall may pelt Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh.
Isolated rains may occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha.
Dense fog is possible in isolated pockets over Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura.
Cold wave conditions are expected in isolated pockets over East Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Isolated rain or snow is possible over Sikkim.
Despite clear skies and sunrise morning, the northern region has been shrouded by severe cold waves. Air quality is forecast to be very poor in Northern, Central, and Eastern India and poor in Northeastern and Southern India.
Cold to severe cold wave conditions are very likely over many/some parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi till January 18 and after that in isolated pockets of East Rajasthan on January 19.

Several passengers suffered train and flights delay. While taking Twitter, news agency ANI informed the delay of the train status. ANI wrote, “6 trains running late in the Northern Railway region due to fog: Indian Railways.”
Informing about the flight status, the news agency ANI wrote, “Delhi | Several flights delayed due to fog and low visibility; Visuals from Delhi airport.”
Amid biting cold nights prevailing in the national capital, Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) provided shelter homes for homeless people.
“Delhi | People take refuge at a night shelter in the Yamuna Bazar area as cold wave continues in the national capital. Blankets, beds, hot water are available here. We provide tea, snacks & meals to people who stay here, says Vimal, caretaker.” ANI tweeted.
Delhites have been seen sitting around the bonfires to get relief from the extreme cold wave.
