Sawan Last Monday: Kashi Vishwanath, Mahakaleshwar See Huge Devotee Turnout

The final Monday of the sacred Sawan month saw devotees gather in large numbers at Shiva temples in different parts of India.

In Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, pilgrims began arriving at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham during the early morning hours to seek darshan and perform Jal Abhishek.

The temple authorities had decorated the premises with flowers and rudraksha, adding to the festive spirit surrounding the occasion.

Varanasi District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar reported that over 60,000 devotees had already visited the temple for darshan by 5 AM.

Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh attracted a large gathering as devotees participated in special worship and witnessed the traditional Bhasma Aarti.

At Kailash Temple in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, worshippers offered water to the Shiva deity and joined prayers marking the auspicious day.

In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, devotees assembled at a Shiva temple in Sardarnagar, where priests conducted a Rudrabhishek ceremony during the Sawan observances.

Baba Garib Nath Dham in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, similarly witnessed a significant gathering, with devotees arriving to offer water and prayers to Lord Shiva.

In Buxar, Bihar, District Magistrate Sahila and Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya inspected arrangements along the Kanwariya route connecting Ramrekha Ghat with Baba Brahmeshwar Nath Temple. The officials visited the temple and offered prayers.

Puri in Odisha witnessed a strong presence of Kanwariya devotees at the Mahaprabhu Sri Jagannath Temple.

The Dwara Phita Niti was conducted as the temple doors opened amid devotional chants and prayers.

The last Monday of Sawan holds considerable religious importance for followers of Lord Shiva.

Devotees across the country marked the occasion with Jal Abhishek, prayers, chanting and traditional ceremonies, bringing the holy month to a spiritual conclusion.
