The Sarojini Nagar Sports League, a prominent initiative designed to foster sports talent and offer better opportunities for the youth, is nearing its grand finale.
This exciting event will culminate with the Inter-School Cricket Championship, part of the tournament’s sixth phase, on February 14th, 2025. MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh launched the tournament on December 4th, 2022.
This year’s cricket championship saw 720 young players from 48 teams competing in 50 thrilling matches. After a month of intense competition, the final match will feature teams from Adarsh India Montessori Inter College and St. Francis Mission School. Both teams earned their spots after fierce battles throughout the tournament.
The organizers will award the victorious team a grand prize, including ₹50,000, a sports kit, a trophy, and a citation, while they will give the runner-up ₹25,000, a sports kit, a trophy, and a citation. MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh will be present to distribute the prizes.
The Sarojini Nagar Sports League has already made a significant impact by organizing five major sporting events, showcasing the talent of over 5,200 players. These events include the Under-19 Girls Basketball Tournament, the Cricket Championship, the Football Tournament, the Volleyball Championship, and the Inter-Divisional Cricket Championship. Moreover, the ongoing Inter-Sports Club League in the sixth phase of the cricket championship further elevates the vibrancy of this sporting initiative.
This league is playing a pivotal role in transforming Sarojini Nagar into a prominent sports hub. It not only encourages local youth to engage in sports but also provides them with an invaluable platform to develop and showcase their skills.
