Sanskar Bharati Celebrates Guru Purnima In Delhi; Honours Guru-Shishya Tradition With Music & Dance

Sanskar Bharati hosted a grand Guru Purnima celebration on July 10, 2025, at its Kala Sankul campus in New Delhi.

Cultural scholar Murari Sharan Shukla attended the event as the chief guest and offered inspiring reflections on India’s artistic heritage.

The programme began with the traditional Nataraja Puja, followed by Guru Vandana, invoking a spiritual and respectful atmosphere.

Murari Sharan Shukla spoke about Nataraja not just as a dance deity but as a symbol of cosmic rhythm and universal energy.

He noted that Nataraja’s dance represents the dynamic essence of creation, resonating with every atom of the cosmos.

His address connected the audience with the deeper philosophical meanings behind India’s artistic traditions.

Soulful musical performances led by young talent

The celebration featured a sequence of classical music performances directed by Sneha Mukherjee from Pushkala Sangeet Kendra.

Young performers presented a musical trilogy, blending melody with tradition and spiritual depth.

Yagyata Gabba performed with youthful charm and mature control over classical nuances.

Uja Akshara, aged 19, brought the monsoon to life through her soulful rendition of raga Desh.

Following this, Sneha Mukherjee’s disciples—Manya, Ruhi, Lavanya, and Siddh—presented a group composition.

Their coordinated effort highlighted technical skill, harmony, and the spirit of collective discipline.

Tabla accompaniment by Rakesh Gandharva and Diwakar added rhythmic richness to the performances.

After the music, the event transitioned into classical dance presentations, captivating the audience visually and emotionally.

Kathak dancer Nandini performed a piece reflecting her guru Shruti Sinha’s rigorous training and artistic sensibility.

Her graceful rhythm, expressive gestures, and dynamic movement conveyed deep devotion and reverence.

Her performance stood out as a spiritual offering rather than a mere artistic display.

Garima Rani anchored the event with elegance and ensured a smooth flow of presentations.

The celebration turned into a symbolic yajna, where each performance became an offering to the guru.

The event revived the age-old guru-shishya parampara not only on stage but also in spirit and practice.

The blend of devotion, discipline, and cultural excellence moved audiences.

Each act reflected not just technical brilliance, but heartfelt respect towards teachers and tradition.

The celebration reinforced the message that art, when guided by a guru, becomes a path to enlightenment.

Murari Sharan Shukla praised the organisers for preserving and promoting India’s spiritual and cultural heritage.

He described the event as a living example of how tradition can flourish in modern settings.

The Guru Purnima celebration at Sanskar Bharati will be remembered for its depth, artistry, and emotional impact.

It successfully merged devotion, performance, and heritage into a cohesive and moving cultural experience.

This effort reaffirms the significance of traditional arts in shaping India’s cultural and spiritual consciousness.
