Sansad Khel Mahakumbh: ‘Daughters are showing stamina in India & abroad’: PM Modi in inauguration

Inaugurating the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh today Prime Minister Modi said- ”Our daughters are showing stamina in the country and abroad!”

PM Modi inaugurates Saansad Khel Mahakumbh 2022-23: The Prime Minister said ”I just got the opportunity to watch Kho-Kho. It was really heartening to see the finesse and the team spirit our girls were playing with. I congratulate all the daughters!”

Sansad Khel Mahakumbh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh 2022-23 organized at Shaheed Satyawan Singh Stadium by connecting through the virtual medium. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present on this occasion. Addressing the program, the Prime Minister said that once sports were considered only as a means of time pass, but today the attitude of the country has totally changed.

‘Now more children and youth are looking at sports as a career’

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Sansad Khel Mahakumbh, the Prime Minister said that now more children and youth are looking at sports as a career. Parents have also started taking sports seriously. Sports are now getting social prestige. The direct benefit of this change in people’s thinking is visible in India’s achievements in the field of sports.

PM Modi said that this Khel Mahakumbh (Sansad Khel Mahakumbh) will give a new opportunity to the players. About two hundred MPs of India are organizing such Khel Mahakumbh here. All the MPs are working to shape the future of the new generation by organizing sports events. Young sportspersons who perform well in the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh are being selected for further training in the training center of the Sports Authority of India.

An opportunity for rural people: CM Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that rural players have got an opportunity from the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh. The CM said that through the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh, which started with the inspiration of PM Modi, today rural youth players are availing opportunities in the state.

The UP Chief Minister told that playgrounds are being built by the government in 59 thousand gram panchayats of the state. The second phase of Sansad Khel Mahakumbh is being organized by Harish Dwivedi, Lok Sabha MP from Basti. Its first phase was organized from December 10 to December 16, 2022 and the second phase is organized from January 18 to January 28, 2023.

CM Yogi started the games by forwarding the ball with a hockey stick in the field. He said that in the last 8 years, the country and the world have seen a new India. Changing India has made its strength felt in every field before the world.
