In a recent interview with a news channel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi openly discussed various issues and made a notable statement about the late former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, in which he praised her. This statement was shared by her son, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit, on his social media account.
Sandeep Dikshit, son of Sheila Dikshit, posted the video clip with the caption: “Although our political differences remain, it is very kind of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remember Sheila Dikshit and her contribution. My mother and Prime Minister Modi were Chief Ministers of different states together for 12 years and often interacted at various forums. Such etiquette is necessary in public life.”
During the interview, PM Modi recalled former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, contrasting her with another Chief Minister who makes grand claims. Modi mentioned how much Sheila Dikshit was criticized and defamed, expressing his respect for her and lamenting the baseless allegations and defamation she faced in her final years. He noted his personal admiration for her and criticized the unfounded accusations that tarnished her reputation.

Meanwhile, there have been rumors about Sandeep Dikshit’s dissatisfaction with his party, the Congress. Sources indicate that Sandeep Dikshit sought a ticket from the party to contest from the North-East Delhi seat, which his mother had contested against BJP MP Manoj Tiwari. However, the party chose Kanhaiya Kumar as its candidate instead. This decision led to discontent among party workers and leaders.
According to sources, there was a confrontation between Kanhaiya Kumar and Sandeep Dikshit during a party meeting, where Sandeep allegedly called Kanhaiya an ‘outsider.’ In response, Kanhaiya accused Sandeep of echoing BJP sentiments. However, Sandeep later denied any such incident, claiming nothing of the sort had occurred.
