Just after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi did a fierce attack on the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi through his first press conference after disqualification as an ‘MP’ in Lok Sabha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit back at the Congress leader for accusing it of being behind his disqualification.
In a press conference, BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi abused the people of the ‘Modi community’ in 2019 and that there is no relation between his disqualification case and the Adani case, as is alleged by Rahul Gandhi.
The spokesperson told the media, “He has the right to criticize, but not abuse.”
Moreover, Ravi Shankar Prasad has also wondered why the Congress party is not appealing against the disqualification order in the higher courts.
He said, “Rahul Gandhi has an army of big lawyers. Why have they not approached the High Court or the Supreme Court? In Pawan Khera’s case, they (the lawyers) got a stay from the Supreme Court in an hour. Then why are they not doing it in Rahul Gandhi’s case.”
The Congress party is planning to make Rahul Gandhi a martyr in order to take advantage in the upcoming Karnataka election, the BJP spokesperson assumed.
“Or is there a conspiracy within Congress?” he asked.
While speaking on Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification, Prasad said he is not alone. He said that 32 other persons had also been disqualified in the past, including people from the BJP.
The BJP spokesperson also played a purported video of Gandhi’s London speech, claiming that there is evidence of him asking for help from the US and the UK.
Further, the BJP spokesperson claimed that in the past, the Congress leader has insulted Pulwama martyrs and hailed China.
He said that the BJP will raise the issue throughout the country.
