Refreshing The Longstanding Bilateral Relationship PM Modi Visits Russia

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for 2 days official Visit to Russia. PM Modi Visits Russia on the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit.

PM Modis visit to Russia after 3 years is a significant development amid rapidly changing global landscape. India’s ambassador to Russia said that it is “very significant” and “very important” for bilateral ties and regional interest.

Notably, the visit is vital to refresh the longstanding bilateral relationship between both the countries.

Informing about the visit on platform X, PM Modi said that these visits are wonderful opportunities to deepen the ties with these (Russia and Austria) nations. In his post on X, Prime Minister also expressed his excitement to meet Indian communities living in Russia and Austria.

PM Modi visited Russia in  2001 for the first time

On this important event of PM Modi’s visit to Russia after 3 year, an X handle named ‘Modi Archive’ recalled the earlier visit of Narendra Modi to Russia. PM Modi visited Russia in November 2001 during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat. Modi accompanied Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Moscow for the India-Russia Summit with President Vladimir Putin. 

As PM Modi visits to Russia, it reminds of protocol pact for cooperation

During this visit, CM Modi also signed a protocol pact for cooperation between his state Gujarat and the Russian province Astrakhan in which both states agreed to work together in the fields of petro and hydrocarbon sectors, trade, science and technology, education, tourism and culture.

Trade, Indians in Ukraine war and China ties are expected to remain the key subjects of discussion between PM Modi and Vladimir Putin.

Modi’s agenda in Moscow also includes discussion on regional and global issues of mutual importance, according to ANI.

ANI reported that on July 9, a community event is scheduled to “highlight cultural ties between India and Russia”.
